I'll get there, I will get there Going from the ground up I'm going there, I'll go straight there Going to that place I love I'll get there, I will get there Going from the ground up, going from the ground up I'm going there, I'll go straight there Yeah I've been asleep for too long Going about this all wrong The darkness smothered all the light Moving fast so got to hold on I'm shaky, but my will is too strong Don't let the doors close, let me breathe I'll get there, I will get there Going from the ground up I'm going there, I'll go straight there Going to that place I love I'll get there, I will get there Going from the ground up, going from the ground up I'm going there, I'll go straight there Yeah Go, stop, go, stop Which stop? Which stop? Go, stop, go Go, stop Which stop? Go Which stop? Go, stop, go

In the Sun 03:29
As I emerge out of the darkness underground Vision becomes so sharp and light is all around me Feel so electric now I feel like I can fly Nothing can touch me, yet I know I can touch the sky Yeah Sun's warmest ray Wash my fear away Sun light up the day I'm on my way In the Sun My pathway looks so bright, direction's crystal clear Feels like it took a lifetime to end up right here Illuminated sidewalks lead me on my way The Sun follows my movements through the city scape In the Sun Sun's warmest ray Wash my fear away Sun light up the day I'm on my way In the Sun In the Sun

I feel so displaced now I took off Running down the boulevard of dreams, or so I thought Curious to see if a detour could save me time Could elevate me, but my priorities realigned You were the definition of temptation I took a bite Suspended my journey halted like a DONT WALK sign I got tangled in the traffic jam inside my mind I dismissed my dream, but now I swear to you I've gotta try Ooh, I gotta do what I gotta do You gotta do what you gotta do Gotta do what I gotta do You gotta do what you gotta do So now I stand at the crossroads and I'm so confused You came and turned me around and I followed just like a fool Gotta find a way to eliminate distractions Gotta find a way back to the main attraction Yeah I was on my way then lost my memory Made me forget there's somewhere that I'm supposed to be Now that I'm so lost and frozen Kicking myself for choosing the boulevard I've chosen Ooh, I gotta do what I gotta do You gotta do what you gotta do Gotta do what I gotta do You gotta do what you gotta do Ooh, I gotta do what I gotta do You gotta do what you gotta do Gotta do what I gotta do You gotta do what you gotta do I feel so lost I'm all turned around Feel so low I'm back underground

Let it Go 03:16
When you hold onto Feelings they'll eat you When you keep it all inside it's only hurting you So baby let it out If you gotta scream and shout (eh- yeah) Release the inner troubles that keep you awake at night Let it Go Let it Go Don't hold it in, just Let It Go Let it Go Let it Go Don't hold it in, just Let It Go Don't be afraid to confront the demons that are haunting you Consequently, the only thing holding you back is you You can rise and fly and take over the world If you learn to let it go Let it Go Let it Go Don't hold it in, just Let It Go Let it Go Let it Go Don't hold it in, just Let It Go Let it go Let it go Let it go Let it out Let it fly Let it Go Let it out Let it fly Let it Go Let it out Let it fly Let it Go Let it out Let it fly Let it Go Let it Go Let it Go Don't hold it in, just Let It Go Let it Go Let it Go Don't hold it in, just Let It Go

The storm has passed and now I'm back on track Going to a place with all the things I lack Decision's made, I'm determining my own fate Keeping a steady pace Don't wanna make my entrance too late You are now a memory of a time long gone You'll remain a remnant of the path I once was on Making my way down the middle and it suits me just fine I've made my mistakes, but every wound will heal in time Now I'm on my way down to Jazz Avenue My heart is beating to match my steps Feeling more in love than I have ever felt Awake and dreaming of what I'll see To get that feeling of the love surrounding me Warm and tender; intense and chilling The mesmerizing, the harmonizing, the thrilling Making my way down the middle and it suits me just fine No more missteps I'm on the right track this time Now I'm on my way down to Jazz Avenue Scat Now I'm on my way down to Jazz Avenue

Feel so tired from the rollercoaster race I've run Always another mile to go Bout the time I think I’m done Almost there and I can see the door so clearly now Headed up the block got to find strength to get there somehow An0maly: I'm gonna get there  I don't even know how But profound and hustling through this old town Life's a steady race I'm on my second leg Hope I don't catch a sprain  or just some heavy rain  Whoa, I'm gonna slip if I run faster They told me patience is a virtue  So if it doesn't hurt you as you work through then it doesn't matter Just as long as you don't run backwards I been hustling, bustling, no discussion loving I'm above in the covenant no does what I does it Kinda fun to know that all this other struggling part of it I'm an artist who art is nothing comparable hardly it's Something that's different, a magician my carpet is Like Aladdin's, my castle, is quite the magic apartment  They told me stay away from rap like it's arsenic But I made the race and left the speaker shaking like Parkinson's Yea we gonna make it Feel so tired from the rollercoaster race I've run Always another mile to go Bout the time I think I’m done Almost there and I can see the door so clearly now Headed up the block got to find strength to get there somehow CK: Completion (before) Depletion (let’s go) Finish line so close I can feel it So weary (keep on moving) But I'm nearing (keep on going) The place where I belong, can y'all hear it? So close Gotta keep on going Almost finished Bout to get it in yeah Feel so tired from the rollercoaster race I've run Always another mile to go Bout the time I think I’m done Almost there and I can see the door so clearly now Headed up the block got to find strength to get there somehow Outro: Yeah, yeah-eeh yeah When I get there I will know oh, oh

Go Blind 04:32
I go blind every time you cross my mind I go blind every time you cross my mind Overlooking what’s in front of me I fixate on the hopeless daydream When you’re on my mind It’s like nothing else exists (oh-oh-oh) And my vision Trades reality for bliss (oh-oh-oh) The world could disappear and I would never know I’d still be blinded by my fabrication I go blind when you cross my mind / I go blind when you cross my mind I go blind when you cross my mind / I go blind when you cross my mind I go blind every time you cross my mind I go blind every time you cross my mind Overlooking what’s in front of me I fixate on the hopeless daydream I’m content in the darkness It feels like a second home oh I can’t help but to feel blessed With this loop that I’ve been thrown When everything you do goes directly to my head The fantasy drags me right Reality goes left I go blind when you cross my mind / I go blind when you cross my mind I go blind when you cross my mind / I go blind when you cross my mind I go blind every time you cross my mind I go blind every time you cross my mind Overlooking what’s in front of me I fixate on the hopeless daydream Oooh, finally Oooh, finally

We're drinking, my friend To the end of a brief episode So make it one for my baby, and one more for the road I know you know the routine So throw another sample On the machine I'm feeling so bad I wish you'd make the music Easy and sad Could tell you a lot But you got to be true to your code So make it one fo my baby and one more for the road That long, long road

about

Teaming up to travel from Hip-Hop to Jazz, BrooklynBeatz and CandaceK begin on Marcy Avenue and take listeners on a trip to the famed jazz club as it was during its heyday just north of 52nd Street in Manhattan.

As in life, detours, triumphs, and confusion all play a part in the struggle to find a place where you belong. But what you learn from the journey will enrich the destination. The struggle enriches the finale.

With classic sounds from both of ends of the spectrum, jazz vocal stylings, story-based lyrics, and vintage instrumentation and vocal production, the project wouldn't be complete without a touch of soul.

Come on down to Jazz Avenue, by way of Brooklyn.
